M. Darren Root, CPA.CITP, Executive Editor

As co-founder and managing partner, Darren Root leads the consulting efforts for RootWorks, LLC. RootWorks was formed with the vision to educate small and mid-sized CPA firms on the value of technology, integrated solutions, and workflow efficiency. As part of this vision, Darren developed his Leadership Communities—which offer an annual forum for future-thinking firms to come together to share best practices, examine common issues, and devise workable solutions. Communities are exclusive groups made up of firms considered leaders in the areas of technology, workflow, and software solutions.

With more than two decades working in the tax and accounting profession, Darren is a highly respected public accountant and a nationally recognized speaker. Viewed as a technology and workflow expert, he is a frequent speaker at numerous conferences, tradeshows, and industry related events. He is a guest lecturer at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, and was recently named Executive Editor of The CPA Technology Advisor.

Darren holds both CPA and CITP (Certified Informa­tion Technology Professional) certificates. He is an AICPA CITP Credential Committee Board Member, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana CPA Society.
